On the back of that try quintet, Narrabri won 40-22.
"Brenton scored five tries, couldn't get hold of him," Werris Creek co-coach Ron Dellar said.
"Him and Jobbo (Daniel Jobson) killed us. Jobbo got us up the middle too. Their forwards went forward for him (Cochrane).
"We're in a little bit of a hole at the moment. [We've] got to get ourselves out of it. Just lost a bit of energy."
Dellar thought Harlee Millgate was one of his side's best.

Jobson said the Blues' rebounded well from the previous week's loss to Boggabri.
"We played well," he said.
Narrabri club president Michael Gleeson said it was a promising display at Collins Park.
He said Cochrane, Jobson and Travis Small were Narrabri's best.
"Travis had a big game - him and Brenton and Jobbo led and the rest followed," Gleeson said.
"We kept them in the game early ... with some mistakes. We always had control of the game and played hard - a lot better than last week."
