Detectives said the attempted armed robbery of an elderly man near McDonald's on Sunday night, as well as the armed home invasion in Dowell Avenue shortly after, were linked.
Oxley Acting Inspector Jason Darcy told the Leader police believe the same silver Mitsubishi Lancer and a knife were used in both robberies.
"Investigators have been looking at CCTV, they're speaking with witnesses and taking statements to try and piece together the movements of the vehicle and the offenders," he said.
The elderly driver of the motorhome was shaken but luckily escaped injury after he was kicked and threatened with a knife about 7.20pm.
We would urge anyone with CCTV from their home or business or anyone with dashcam footage from around that time on Sunday night to come forward.

The 81-year-old parked the motorhome on the corner of Bridge Street and Out Street, while his son, a 15-year-old boy, went across the road to McDonald's to get something to eat.
Police have been told moments later, an offender opened the passenger door and jumped into the vehicle. He then demanded the elderly man's wallet, while kicking him and threatening him with a knife.
