Coming into the game off the back of a loss to Endevour Sports High, Farrer was looking to post a home victory against their city counterparts. However, despite a spirited defensive effort, Hills Sports High ran out 38-6 winners at Farrer No.1 Oval.
Mitch Henderson scored Farrer's only try for the game from a quick-piece of play after a scrum.
Farrer outside back Cooper Harris said his side knew what it had to improve on going forward.
"A couple of quick tries got the momentum going Hills way and to our credit I think we lifted defensively," Harris told the Leader.
"I think the loss has really shown us what we need to improve on and I know we as a group will work hard to be where we need to be."

Along with Henderson, Harris said rising star Trent Taylor was one of his side's best players in the loss.
"They [Hills Sports High] were a big, experienced team," he said.
"We had a couple of important players missing through injuries, but I still think we battled it out really well.
"I thought Trent Taylor was fantastic and I'm sure we as a group will take a lot of knowledge from that game."
Farrer will next take on Patrician Brothers College Fairfield on July 31 as a part of the pool stages of the NRL Schoolboy Cup.
"Today's [Tuesday's] game was it for us in terms of football this term," Harris said.
"The next game of the Schoolboy Cup is what we will focus on now.
"Being in late July it will give us plenty of time to work on what we need to work on and be ready."
Part of the team's leadership group, the Year 12 student said he was confident his side's best football lay ahead.
"We have some really talented players in our ranks for sure," Harris said.
"For us it's about working on what we need to work on and putting it all together for a complete performance."
