Tamworth South Public School is an inclusive school offering a wide variety of academic, sporting, cultural and leadership opportunities to promote student excellence and achievement.
Students make a strong start at school through a supportive transition program in kindergarten, building confidence through engaging and challenging activities.
Students' leadership skills are developed through camps, student representative council, student buddies and Positive Behaviour for Learning.
"Highly skilled and dedicated staff cater for a variety of students through refining their skills and implementing future focused programs which promote creativity, communication and critical thinking. principal Leonie Byrne says.
"At Tamworth South we work closely with our families to develop the whole child."
Oxley Vale Public School has had a wonderful year, principal Luke Norman says.
"Looking at particular highlights, it's clear that what makes Oxley Vale special is our relationships; with our parents and carers, the community and the many visitors to the school who come to share their knowledge and inspire our students," Mr Norman says.
"Most recently we had our year 5 and 6 students head to Canberra for a week. They were lucky enough to visit Parliament House, the AIS, the Royal Australian Mint and Questacon.
"We welcome parents into the school to participate with their children in school activities, and we welcome community groups using the school's facilities.
"These relationships strengthen us all, with extra opportunities for the students and enhanced respect for members of the community, in particular the local Aboriginal community.
"We also develop pride; in our school, our community and in each other."
