One of the 14-year-old boys jumped a few fences until Oxley Police District officers arrested him in a Bourne Street backyard shortly after midday on Thursday.
"There was a short foot pursuit with police," Chief Inspector Jeff Budd said.
"It is a great result thanks to some cunning police work."
The pair have been charged with aggravated indecent assault, aggravated break-and-enter, breach of bail and aggravated break, enter and steal.
The teenager arrested on Bourne Street has an additional charge of aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence on an unrelated matter.
Police allege the two boys entered the home of an 82-year-old woman who lives alone, pushed, shoved and indecently assaulted her.
The teenagers then allegedly ransacked the property for 15 minutes before fleeing the scene with cash and an Apple iPad.

The first 14-year-old boy was arrested late on Wednesday afternoon on Robert Street as a result of forensic evidence and a police appeal for public support, Chief Inspector Budd said.
"These particular offences are ones that we find abhorrent, so we do our absolute best to go the extra mile to make those arrests," he said.
