The eight-year-old gelding son of Primus, who weighs 600kg, was primed for a good effort in Tuesday's $22,000 Advanced Inland Security Benchmark 66 Handicap (2100m) at Tamworth.
He led into the turn, with the Mary Moses-trained Mount Bulla pushing up on his inside. While Mount Bulla made the turn well and kicked clear, Bluesbro speared a few horses wider and out in the middle of the track.
Under Serg Lisnyy's riding, Bluesbro kicked back to erase that deficit and forge clear for a half-length win from Luke Thomas' Eureka Sky, with Mel O'Gorman's Cut The Mustard a short head away third.

Kristen Buchanan was delighted with her gelding's third win in 15 starts. She also appreciated Lisnyy's "lovely ride".
"He didn't panic and got him comfortable," she said. "He's so tough and so relaxed," she added, referring to Bluesbro.
Lisnyy said Bluesbro is "always honest" and "was real good today".
"It's such a good stable to ride for," he added.
Buchanan loves racing at Tamworth and said picking the right horse for the right distances and classes was the key to her success.
She said Bluesbro has had a few injury issues over his stop-start career.
"[I've been] just been getting him through [the] grades," she said. "I also own a large percentage of him so there is no pressure on us."
Meanwhile, Cody Morgan won his second race of the day on Tuesday and young apprentice Yvette Lewis won her second race when the four kilogram-claiming apprentice sooled Buon Natale to a debut win for his new Tamworth stable.
The former Newcastle horse was having his first run for Morgan, in the $22,000 Cool Blue Ice Benchmark 58 Handicap (1200m), after the Tamworth trainer's father, Glenn Morgan, bought the six-year-old gelding "online" for $2000.
"He's had three jump-outs and two trials. [He's] been in work four months," said Morgan, who won race one on Tuesday with Crowd Surfer.
"Everyone said you'll never get a win out of him [Buon Natale] and it made me even more determined.
"It was a terrific ride too. Everything panned out well. I'd told Yvette to just let him bowl along and we'll see how long he lasts."
Lewis, who rode a winner at her first ride at Tamworth recently, has now won two of her four career starts.
"He travelled really well for me," she said of Buon Natale.
While he "did get his head up", he joined in to make it four wide across the track turning into the straight and then forged clear for a length win from Stirling Osland's Heaven's High, with Luke Thomas' Dragoneight three quarters of a length away third.
