For many, it was also time to hit the road to the Tamworth region, an estimated 10,000 visitors flocking in for events such as baseball and AFL carnivals, a rugby championship, the NCHA Futurity and the dance eisteddfod.
But a new regular attraction was one of the city's busiest places during the Queen's birthday break, families and young people hitting Tamworth Regional Skate Park for a scoot, skate or ride.
