After obtaining her rider licence at the start of May, she ran in her first official races at the Marthaguy Picnic Racing Club in Quambone on May 11, earning a third and fourth place finish.
Then came the Moree Picnic Races, and in the first race of the Taylor - who is originally from Moree but now based in Wyong - missed out on a win by less than half a length, but it was race two where the long awaited first win came.
On Shelly's Dream, trained by Fred Carter, she won by more than four lengths.
"It was amazing," Taylor said.
"I got goosebumps down my spine. It was one of the best feelings."

Taylor said it's been a long time coming to finally get this opportunity.
She has been riding her whole life and training very hard as a trackwork rider for the last three years. She ran in 11 trials before obtaining her licence.
"I started my trials last year in December. It took me a while to get through those," she said.
"I started out with Peter Sinclair and he was one of my biggest supporters. He's helped me a lot."
Taylor will be back for the second leg of the Golden Triangle at the Mallawa Picnic Races this weekend.
In particular, she will feature in the Cup where she will be racing on Moree trainer Douglas Fernando's horse Beau in Chains.
