Playing in her 33rd state championship, open-age goal defence Penny Westman said nothing compares to the excitement of playing at the state championships.
"I would say I'm looking forward to this tournament more than the others," Westman said.
"We have a really strong defensive team but our shooting is outstanding.
"At training we have been shooting at about 95 per cent - hopefully we can bring that into the championships."
Under-17 captain Samantha Schuberth said her side would be looking to continue its recent good form at regional level.
"We are certainly looking to keep doing well," Schuberth said.
"I think we have a really strong defending circle, shooting circle and our centre court is very good as well.
"All around I think we are a pretty good team."
Lining up in her fourth carnival, under-15 star Molly Elford said the carnival was a great chance for the team to build lifetime bonds.
"There's a few new players in the team, so it should be a great experience for them," Elford said.
"I think one of the best things about these types of carnivals is getting to know your teammates and other players better as the carnival goes on."
Westman echoed Elford's sentiments saying "being with your team is the best part".
"You stay together, play together and become really close," Westman said.
"It really is an enjoyable experience and I think we are all pretty excited to do well and bring home some wins."
