The life of the old skate-park on Peel Street, opposite the PCYC, might grind to a halt as the council looks at options for the land.
Tamworth Regional Council's manager of sports and recreation Paul Kelly said the site could become a "long vehicle parking area".

It would allow travellers "a space to park that is readily accessible to the CBD for shopping and exploring while in Tamworth".
"However, no concrete decisions have been made and it is unlikely that anything will happen for a few months yet," Mr Kelly said.
The council's decision could create more parking near the centre of the city, but it could mean the loss of a public art space as well.
Staff were keen to emphasise the new skate-park was not a "designated graffiti zone" like the facility, but the council was on the look-out for new area for public art.
"Council is working closely with the crime prevention group to find an appropriate alternate location for street artists to practice graffiti," he said.
"The old skate-park is set to remain in place until another location has been decided."
After more than three years of planning and construction, the new $1.7m skate park was opened this week with hundreds of kids and families making tracks to the grand opening on Sunday.
There are plans to add basketball courts, bouldering walls and a public art space to the park.
