The NSW Department of Planning gave the company's Tamworth-based processing plant permission to increase the volume of raw material going through the factory from 400 tonnes to 530 tonnes a day.
That will result in the amount of finished product jumping from a daily average of 120 tonnes to 160 tonnes, with a daily maximum of 180 tonnes.
The increase does not require more staff, changes in facilities or the introduction of new equipment.
While the facility already has the capacity to accommodate the increase, with the additional raw material there will be more vehicle movements to and from the site.
Documents lodged with the NSW government say the modification is an "interim increase" to cover the forecast growth in incoming material, as Baiada is planning to seeking approval for a new poultry processing facility.
It will also apply for an additional increase in the processing volumes and finished product capacity of the rendering plant.
