As part of routine maintenance, the pipelines have to be inspected using a piece of technology called a pig.
There are several more flares set for the coming weeks, and a APA Gas spokesman said the company has tried to minimise risks.
"While we always endeavour to minimise impacts on landowners and occupiers, some people may experience periods of elevated noise levels," he said.

The pig runs through the pipeline between Dubbo and Tamworth and natural gas has to be flared to ensure the correct operation of the tool.
The 30-hour flare ran from 7am on Tuesday until Wednesday, and was heard from nearby properties.
