The Roosters registered their first win of the AFL North West under-17 season against the New England Nomads and coach Greg Vallender is confident his side can "get on a roll".
"It was really good for our guys to get their first win of the year on the board," Vallender said.
"They have been improving week on week and importantly they have been having fun.
"If they can keep that up we should be in for a good season."

The Roosters made the most of their oppurtunities against the Nomads, running out 11-11-77 to 9-17-71 winners at Tamworth No.1 Oval.
"I thought all of our boys played really well, but I thought William Tydd was probably our best player," Vallender said.
"It was a good game of footy to be honest, it was our first hitout for the season and I think our performance really set the tone for the season.
"Our attack on the ball was strong all day and moving William Tydd into our back line probably was the difference at the end of the game."
Vallender said the side's ongoing focus would be on "game sense and sharing the ball".
"We did those things well against the Nomads," he said.
"Those areas are something we will continue to work at and hopefully get better at as the season rolls on. "
Vallender said the Roosters' inclusive atmosphere made it "a great place to be".
"If there are any kids out there wanting to have a go they are more than welcome to come down and get involved," he said.
"A lot of our kids are now in the second year and hopefully will be together for at least the next couple of years.
"Hopefully in that time we can really build a strong core of players."
The Roosters will take on the Inverell Saints from 11.15am on Saturday, while the Nomads will play host to the Moree Suns from 12pm.
Before the under-17 clash, the Roosters under-14 team will also clash with the Saints from 9.45am.
