THE Gunnedah Greyhound Racing Club has a new track record holder after a stunning run at the club's meeting on Wednesday.

The Bradley O'Neil trained Myrniong Master set a cracking pace in the the evening's eighth race, finishing the 527 metre event in 30.19 seconds.
Coming out of box six, Myrniong Master took out the race by more than five lengths from Raven Loch in second and six lengths ahead of Pitch in third.

Club president Geoff Rose said the track's recent upgrade was a major factor in the record-setting time.
"The record had stood for only about two minutes, but to go at 30.19 seconds is flying," Rose said.
"At this stage the track is really settling well and without doubt it helped contribute to that amazing time.
"It's been about six months since our upgrade was finished and we are extremely happy with how it is going at the moment."
Rose said the club had received "a lot of positive feedback about the track".
"We have had trainers from as far as Goulburn, Casino and in the case of Bradley O'Neil, Wellington coming to race here," he said.
"I have to give a lot of credit to the guys from Greyhound Racing NSW, they have done an amazing job getting the track to this stage.
"It's at the stage now that the sand is really starting to settle and everyone is really enjoying racing in Gunnedah."
The club will now shift its focus to its annual cup meeting on June 9.
"It's shaping up to be a cracking event at this stage with between $25,000 and $30,000 in prize money up for grabs," Rose said.
"There are heats at our next two meetings and trainers from all over are should be there.
"Hopefully it should be an amazing event."
Rose said the club would look to build on its current momentum going into 2020.
"At this stage we are set for 16 TAB meetings in 2020, with the potential for more," he said.
"It will be fantastic for us to have regular TAB meetings and continue to get trainers from all over racing here.
"I really do think there are big things ahead for our club."
