The NSW woman held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3870, drawn on May 20.
She took home a division one prize of $1 million.
In addition to winning division one, the woman's system 7 marked entry also won division three six times, bolstering her total prize to $1,002,284.50.
Speaking with a NSW Lotteries official this morning to confirm her prize, the happy woman admitted after discovering her winning news late last night, she was too excited to sleep.
"I heard the numbers on the radio last night," she explained.
"I knew some of them were my numbers, so I checked the numbers online and saw they were all my numbers.
"I couldn't believe it. I was in complete shock. Seeing it was just unbelievable.
"I cracked open a beer as soon as I realised I won.
"I couldn't sleep last night because I just wanted to call you guys to have it confirmed.
"I kept checking the website and my emails to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
"I am glad you have confirmed it. I feel really emotional right now, I am sorry I just can't stop crying.
"I can't believe I am a millionaire. Can you please repeat that?"
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning system 7 marked entry at Memories Newsagency.
Employee Cathy Hobson said the outlet was thrilled to discover they helped deliver a division one win to one of their local customers.
"We are ecstatic," she said.
"I just love when one of our customers wins a major prize. It is such a buzz.
"To know we've played a part in changing someone's life, it's just an absolute thrill.
"I am as happy as I would be if I won a major prize.
"We are thrilled for our winner and wish her all the very best with her prize.
"This is the third division one winning ticket we've sold at this outlet since March last year.
"Hopefully we sell some more division one winning tickets and make more of our customer's dreams come true."
