Inverell police were called to a hotel in Byron Street early Sunday morning after a man refused to leave.

Officers attended the licenced premises at about 12.20am and arrested a 26-year-old conveying him back to Inverell Police Station.
The man was issued with infringement notices for failing to leave a licensed premises and offensive behaviour.

Just 15 minutes later, police detected a motor vehicle driving erratically in Byron Street.
The vehicle was stopped in Lawrence Street where a roadside breath test was conducted on the driver.
A 47-year-old male was arrested and conveyed to the station for a breath analysis.
Reading mid-range, he was issued with a court attendance notice to appear at Inverell Local Court on June 6.
Meanwhile, under the new laws, any driver who commits a low-range drink driving offence will be fined $561 and lose their licence immediately for three months.
Penalties for first time drug presence offences will include a fine and three month licence suspension.
