Polls and pundits predicted a change of government was upon us while the bookmakers boastfully backed-in a win for Labor.
It didn't land as planned for some, but on the main street of Tamworth, it was business as usual on the day after the election.

It was the Sunday markets and Peel Street was pumping.
However, on a mild, sunny day in the New England it was easier to get people out of their homes than to pry out a post-election political opinion.
There were a few brave souls who were happy to share their thoughts on the poll with opinions varied from block-to-block.
Some were relieved an "untrustworthy" Bill Shorten wasn't elected, while others felt the coalition wouldn't care for them.
Barnaby Joyce's record in the electorate was considered highly, while a strains of political apathy were also a recurring theme.
