Joanne Gai Widders, 47, faced court for the first time on Tuesday charged with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.
A 37-year-old man was rushed to Tamworth hospital Intensive Care Unit after he was allegedly stabbed in the head and upper chest on Monday night.
The injured man remains in an induced coma, the court heard.
Magistrate Julie Soars refused Widders' bail and she will remain in custody to appear again in July.
EARLIER
NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to the incident shortly after 11pm after Oxley Police District officers responded to reports of a noise complaint.
Joanne Gai Widders, 47, has been charged with maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm and will appear in Tamworth Local Court today.
Police will allege the pair were known to each other.
A crime scene has been established at a home in Sue Crescent, West Tamworth where the stabbing is alleged to have taken place.
