North Companions' young side would get a "massive" boost by ending their three-game winless run when they play East Armidale at Doody Park on Saturday, says their coach, Jackson Zifodya.

For that to happen, Zifodya said, North Companions had to convert their chances - something they had failed to do in last weekend's doubler-header against Tamworth FC (they lost 4-1) and OVA (they drew 2-2) despite having the bulk of possession in both games.
"You look at the two games we played over the previous weekend ... Against FC we had 60-70 per cent of the possession but couldn't score," he said.
"Ask anybody who watched that game who was the better team. We were the better team.
"The same in the OVA game. We controlled the game for most parts. We had 60-70 per cent of possession again, and we ended up conceding a penalty in the last minute that drew the game."

The first-year coach said that apart from poor finishing, his young charges were adapting "very well" to the competition. It was a "steep learning curve" for them, he added.
"I keep saying that they're a young team but they've held their own against big teams," he said.
"I keep banging on about it [the side's inexperience]. It shouldn't be an excuse [for not winning] but that's a fact."
Northies have not won sine beating Demon Knights 2-0 in round one and sit second last on the ladder. Last-placed East Armidale have lost their three matches to date.
In other games on Saturday, Tamworth FC host South Armidale and OVA host Demon Knights.
