Aidan R De Luzuriaga played centre throughout this year's championships, his first after taking up the sport three years ago.
"It was a really great experience for me," R De Luzuriaga said.
"This year is my third year or so in basketball and so far I have been involved with the state championships and now the CHS championships as well. It has been really great."

North West had a mixed bag of results at the carnival, with one win and another winnable game cancelled.
"I played centre for most of the carnival and it was quite the challenge coming up against some of the taller guys from Sydney," R De Luzuriaga said.
"We had a reasonable time down there though, we won one game and had another game that I think we could have won cancelled because the roof was leaking.
"That was something pretty unusual, but I guess it happens."
R De Luzuriaga said the opportunity to play in a representative squad "was very interesting for a lot of reasons".
"There was a lot of talented guys in the team that I had never played with," he said.
"From that perspective it was a really great experience to get to know a few more guys."
R De Luzuriaga said basketball was a growing sport in the Gunnedah region.
"From what I understand, it was a really popular sport in Gunnedah several years ago, but not so much now," he said.
"I have seen a few more people getting involved and there has been some interest in starting a rep team here again, so I guess we will see."
Towering at six feet four inches tall, R De Luzuriaga believes his best basketball is ahead of him.
"I want to go as far as I can in the sport and I know there is a lot left to improve on," he said.
"Playing for the state country team in the next couple of years is a goal of mine and hopefully I can get there."
