Just a week to go until the nation decides and I don't know about you, but I'm having terrible trouble getting excited.

The debate on Monday night was far from enthralling; though it did make it clear this is a two horse race between incumbent Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce and Independent candidate Adam Blakester.
In my opinion all this election has done is take the focus off some of the more important issues of the day, and for us that means the prolonged drought.
There seems to be a lot of talk, but very little policy to deal with the ongoing dry.
Talking about climate change now is great for the future, but with more and more communities literally running out of water, what's the plan for the here and now?
Councils are digging deep, funding everything from pipelines to water carters, but where's the bigger picture?
It's a shame the political cycle these days seems to be more about the next three years instead of what happens after that.
I know, how about our politicians put the country first. Nah, I'm just being silly.
On another note, happy Mother's Day to all those mums out there.
I hope you have an enjoyable day.
