Played at Scully Park as a curtain raiser to the Wests Tigers, Gold Coast Titans clash, the showcase trial match pitted the school's top players against one another.
Farrer got the best of things early, skipping out to a 12-0 lead early in the first half.
However, the side was unable to maintain the upper hand, allowing Red Bend to claw back the lead.

Farrer team manger John Leslie told the Leader the side's lapse in concentration eventually cost them the game.
"We certainly had our moments right throughout the game," Leslie said.
"To start so well but not capitalise on it was disappointing, we came back again later in the game to bring the score back to 22-16 but we couldn't keep it up.
"Eventually the score got away from us and Red Bend finished with a 38-16 win."
While not gaining a victory, Leslie said the side would "learn a lot" from Saturday's encounter.
"Red Bend are a pretty strong side, so for us it was a really good test," he said.
"Not to make excuses, but we did have a few guys unavailable and injured, which made it tough.
"But a positive of that is we got a chance to try a few guys in different spots and I think they all did really well."
Farrer will now turn its attention to round one of the NRL Schoolboy Cup and the University Shield against Matraville High School.
"The game will be at Farrer on May 15 and will be a double-header for both competitions," Leslie said.
"It should really give our guys a good chance to bounce back and hopefully start the season off with a win."
