The father and son duo of Chris and Anthony Frisby made the trip from Bathurst to the meeting - a trip they have made for the past 10 years with success - picking up two feature races in the John Dean Memorial and the Santos Carnival of Cups.

"It is always the race we love to target," reinsman Anthony Frisby said of the John Dean Memorial.

The win of Uncle Jord secured the third win in the John Dean Memorial for the duo after taking out the 2013 running with Uncle Benjamin and Our Uncle Alan in the 2018 running.

"He [Uncle Jord] went supersonic last week and this week he was just a bit above himself but he still went well," Frisby said.

Our Uncle Alan then followed in taking out the $10,000 Santos Carnival of Cups Pace.

"It is great to come up and get a couple of wins - it's a fantastic track (Narrabri) not because we are getting a few winners but it is a dead set good track and considering they only get two meetings a year it's a credit all the hard work they put in getting the track ready," Frisby said.

TAMWORTH pacer Cause A Big Scene made the most of his perfect racing position in taking out the NRMA Lynton Pty Ltd & CL Dickinson Auto Electrics & Narrabri Ag Supplies Pace at the Narrabri meeting.

Trained by Ernie Mabbott, it was reinsman Anthony Varga who handled the reins behind Cause A Big Scene with the gelding raced by his parents John and Noelene Varga.

"It wasn't really the plan at the start to be in the one one - we were hoping to lead but he is one of those horses you have to let him do what he wants to out of the gate and he didn't want to be there [in the lead] so it worked out in the long run," Varga said.

Peeling out three wide on the final turn, Cause A Big Scene came away for a 6m win over Christian Shannon and Myanga Sportsgirl (Stacey Weidemann) another 3m away third.

"Dad would be very proud of this horse - Ernie Mabbott and Dad have put a lot of work into the horse - he has been a bit of a pain but we finally got him there and he is a nice horse. I think there is a lot more to come yet," Varga said.

"Today he showed us his best," added Varga of the five-year-old gelding who was notching up his third career win at race start 33.

"I was sitting there biding my time. I probably should have done that last week and he would have been in the final and been competitive. Last week I had a bit of a brain snap and went a bit early and put a bit of pressure on the horse and he hit his knee and galloped."

ROCK N Joy set a new track record at the Narrabri meeting with the mare who is trained by the Aaron Goadsby and Mark Jones team having her first race start on Australian soil.

A first up win by Rock N Joy recorded a mile rate of 1.57.9 for 1760m which smashed the long-standing record set by Pur Fect Shun of 1.59.2 back in 1995.

THE Dubbo meeting provided the chocolates for Moonbi trainer and part-owner Wayne Gray along with reinswoman Madi Young when Shadow Dealer won the TAB Parkes/Dubbo Easter Final paying $12 for the win.

"The race suited him and the speed was on the whole way," Young said of the mile rate of 1.58.4 for the 2120m journey.

With race favourite Heza Slick Joe (Mitch Turnbull) leading the field as the bell sounded, Shadow Dealer was at the back of the field.

"We wanted to sit in the running line and Wayne (Gray) said if the speed was on stay there and have a crack at them at the 400m mark," Young said.

Driving to instruction, Madi Young encouraged Shadow Dealer to make his race move.

"I couldn't believe how quickly he dashed - he is tough," she said. "I had to tap him up a lap from home and he grabbed the bit."

Shadow Dealer sprinted down the home straight to have an eventual 2.7m win over Sam's Express (John O'Shea) and Sonny Studleigh (Jake Davis) a short half-head away third.

THE Narrabri meeting also saw Elly Chapple make her driving debut after accepting a drive behind Summer Money from the Shepherdson stables.

The daughter of Moonbi trainer and reinsman Dean Chapple and Julie Chapple, Elly also had to contend with her father in the race who finished second with Esspe Supreme.

Elly Chapple handled her own in the race and has now headed to Queensland for some work experience with the Weidemann stables and will be back home in time to take on her home track of Tamworth at their next meeting on May 2.
