THREE out of four cars stolen in one night in Tamworth and Werris Creek have been recovered after thieves tried unsuccessfully to torch them.
One car was still missing late on Wednesday after it was stolen from Raglan Street in East Tamworth on Tuesday night.
Police said the Bronze Proton Exora was taken between 8pm on Tuesday and about 6.30am on Wednesday.
The car was bearing registration plates of CVA-17B, and police are urging anyone who spots the vehicle to contact Tamworth police immediately.
Three other cars were stolen in the same night from Calala and Werris Creek and then later dumped by thieves who tried to torch them.
A Holden Cruz and Kia Sportage were taken during a break-in at a Galah Drive, Calala, home about 4am, along with a wallet and personal cards.
The Cruz was then found dumped in the Coledale brickworks.
Police spent some of the day searching for the Sportage which was later found abandoned in Currububula on Wednesday afternoon.
A Ford utility was also stolen from a Kurrara Street property in Werris Creek on Tuesday night. It was then found dumped nearby in the town.
Police said all three cars were in tact but it appeared offenders had tried to torch the vehicles.
Investigations into the thefts are continuing and police are urging anyone that saw the cars being driven in the early hours of Wednesday to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
