Cooper Wilkinson kept his recent run of good form in tact by securing third place in the under-14 category at the national championships.
Wilkinson's success was the first of many for the region's junior tennis players, with Taya Powell, Aaron Osmond and Anna Bishop both securing success at carnivals in Newcastle, Victoria and Bathurst.
Powell got the ball rolling for the region's players by finishing with a semi-final berth during a carnival in Newcastle.

Meanwhile, the duo of Osmond and Bishop combined for victory in the under-16 mixed doubles at a carnival in Swan Hill, which also saw Osmond finish runner up in the men's doubles.
Bishop continued her run of winning form finishing runner up in the in under-14 girls doubles at a carnival in Bendigo while Osmond finished second in an under-16 boy's competition in Bathurst.
The pair will now look to add to their silverware by competing in tournaments in Coffs Harbour and Albury.
Meanwhile, Wilkinson will look to continue his winning form at the NSW State of Age tournament next week.
