As far as week's go tough it has been a pretty standard one from a news point of view.
The debate over a uni for Tamworth kicked off again. The results of a survey confirming what we already know, and that is that students will leave town if there's not the option for them to get a tertiary education here.
There's growing support for a full blown campus to be established in Tamworth, and it makes perfect sense.
I was lucky, when I completed my degree I was able to live at home.
Yes, I had a part time job, but I certainly wasn't under pressure to support myself while studying. So I can understand the push from families for the choice to be made available to students here.
Let's hope it's not just a pipe dream and will become reality sooner rather than later. After all, the more we are being encouraged to grow our population (Tamworth 100,000), the more we will need these facilities.
Perhaps with the upcoming Federal election there might be some movement.
If ever there was a chance to have your questions answered this is it.
With that in mind, we'd be keen to hear what you'd like to know about.
Send your questions to mail.ndl@fairfaxmedia.com.au and we will do our best to put them to the candidates in the coming weeks.
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend
