The dam current sits at 26 per cent. Once it drops to 25 per cent, which is expected to happen sometime next week, Tamworth Regional Council will increase the water restrictions from level three to level four.
Residents have noticeable reduced their water use.
This week Tamworth, Kootingal and Moonbi all hit their water consumption goal, using a combined 20 megalitres a day.
Bendemeer also hit its goal of 65 kilolitres a day.
Level four restrictions bans all residential outdoor use of treated, town and council water, while pools cannot be filled or topped up.
Council will also stop irrigating public parks and spaces with treated water, and will use bore water where possible.
