The on-road branch of the service, the patient transport vehicles, have helped more than 1150 people to get where they needed to go.
Phillip Morrison has been a driver for the service since it started 365 days ago.
"This job is amazing," he said.
"All of our patients are grateful and the kids we transport really stand out - they're a lot of fun and they take their illness in stride.
"It makes you really humble."
Every week, on average, 23 people benefit from the service in the region.
The vehicles cover Tamworth, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Newcastle.
The goal is to help people in rural areas get to health care, Mr Morrison said.
"It's about rural people who would have massive issues getting to health care; we're just about making their lives much easier," he said.
