Police claim Youseff, 41, shot 23-year-old Ali Wannous on Boxing Day about 10.30pm in Bundella, near Quirindi.
Youseff allegedly discharged a firearm without regard to public safety, that amounted to manslaughter.
He appeared in Tamworth Local Court last week via video link from Sydney with his lawyer Marina Kiriakos.
"He is present, your honour - he's the gentleman in the grey jacket," Ms Kiriakos said.
"We're here today for charge certification."
The charge certificate was handed to magistrate Julie Soars, who adjourned the matter until June to see how the meeting between the two parties went.
