Held at the Gipps Street playing fields, the day featured activities for children as well as an opportunity for new comers to try their hand at the sport.
The association's four teams (Warriors, Cougars, Pandas, Gunnedah and Armidale) were represented on the day and will all take to the field in the season's opening games on April 13.

Association president Robert Handsaker told the Leader Saturday's come and try day was a success.
"It was great to see a few new comers to the sport come along and give it a go," Handsaker said.
"The day essentially was a bit of an open day for anyone interest to come and have a look and sign up if interested.
"In the days since, we have had people get in touch looking to play this season, which is great."
Last year's top two sides will begin the new season as the Cougars and Armidale lock horns in A Grade.
"I think it will be a really competitive season," Handsaker said.
"Every team has got some new players and they should all be fairly well balanced."
Tamworth's first-ever women's baseball team will also be taking to the field for the first time on Saturday when they clash with the Warriors in B Grade.
"It will be really special to see the Pandas come together for the first time," Handsaker said.
"They have also picked up some new players recently and hopefully we might be able to pick up a few more new players as the season rolls on."
