To ensure that residents were not inconvenienced, factories and manufacturing experienced shut-downs which would cost their bottom line financially as they would not be meeting their targets to supply their customers and would be paying their employees through these stoppages. This is not financially sustainable
Now we want to introduce electric cars to the equation when we cannot support residential and commercial manufacturing requirements currently, which will help the environment.
Questions:
- How long does it take to re-fuel an electric car from empty?
- What costs will be imposed on the cost of this "fuel"?
- We are fully aware of the cost of our electricity bills each quarter - both residential and commercial - it seems hard to believe that an electric motor vehicle will be cheaper to run than a current petrol / diesel motor vehicle?
- Winter is approaching - will our current suppliers of electricity be able to guarantee no black-outs for residential, commercial, manufacturing businesses and at the same time guarantee that drivers of electric motor vehicles will not be told that there is no electricity for their vehicles when they wish to re-fuel possibly days away from home?

Abhorrent waste of water in a drought
I live on Falcon Drive in Lampada Estate, Calala. Over the past few months an extension of the estate has been getting prepared for sale, and at the moment they have got the new roads laid and bare ground everywhere in preparation for the division of housing lots to be sold.
My issue is that along the verges of these new roads they have laid strips of new turf and have been throwing truckloads of water on it all day each day both by water truck and sprinkler hoses. In fact as I write this, on a Saturday morning at around 7:45am, the sprinklers have been going for over an hour already. This new grass serves no other purpose except to make the new land to be sold look more attractive, yet I have fruit trees that we are growing on our land to feed our family and I can't throw water on them all day due to the Level 4 restrictions.
I've called the council about this and was told water restrictions do not apply to businesses in Tamworth as they don't want people to lose jobs. I'm sorry but that is a cop out and an incredibly stupid blanket rule. I can understand a restaurant for example having no restrictions, but seriously a developer wanting to lay and water turf all day just to maximise the profits of their land sales?
I really have to ask myself why should us ratepayers do the right thing if the water we are saving is being used by developers to pretty up their properties with lawn verges and the like?
