A CRITICAL care team has rushed to the aid of a five-year-old boy who has been kicked in the head by a horse.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was on its way to another rescue in Glen Innes when crew received the emergency call that the child was in a critical condition.
The little boy has been stabilised on scene at a Moree property by ASNSW Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team before being loaded into the helicopter for transport.
The child's mother will escort her son to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
He is believed to be in a critical condition.
