In their round one encounter against college rivals St Albert's, the reigning premiers gave their opponents a schooling to record an emphatic 46-3 triumph.
It took 15 minutes before any points were scored with Robb kicking a penalty and then Albies leveling it up soon after.
From there, the floodgates opened with three tries before the break to give them a half-time lead of 29-3.
In the second stanza, Robb continued the rout and scored another wave of tries to push the scoreline out with a further 17 points.
Co-coaches Sam Ditchfield and David McCathie were rapt with the efforts.
"A lot of talk about our defence this year and it has been strong in the trial games," McCathie said.
"We were really delighted not to concede a try today [Saturday] so that was a really good effort by the boys and something we will be working hard on to maintain."
Heading into the first round encounter, the coaches were concerned the team would get complacent with much of last year's premiership-winning squad returning.
On Saturday, they proved it wasn't the case.
"You just never know when they come back," McCathie said.
"You don't have them for a long time and we have only had them for a month now but they certainly showed they are serious and are very keen and excited."

Ditchfield still wants them to avoid getting complacent and warned spots in the first grade team are still up for grabs for those under-performing.
"You don't win comps in round one," he said.
"We have got work to do.
"There is a lot of pressure on positions in first grade at the moment. What was really pleasing was we were forced to make three or four changes and we kept our flow with those changes."
