The funding was announced today by Minister for for Police and Emergency Services Michael Gallacher today.
The declarations were welcomed by member for Northern Tablelands Richard Torbay who said applications by the local councils were responded to swiftly.
He said this now opened the way for additional assistance for fire affected councils and landowners.
“The declarations come following fires along the eastern length of this electorate including the massive Macleay River Fire which has, to date, burnt 51,000 hectares of land across Armidale-Dumaresq, Walcha and Kempsey LGAs," Mr Torbay said.
"Other fires include the Mulligans Fire in Guyra, Clay Fire in Armidale-Dumaresq and the Panhandle Fire in Walcha.
"I have spoken to a number of landholders who are now left without fencing or fodder, these declarations open the way for special assistance for individuals, small business operators and community organizations, as well as assistance to allow councils to repair damage to their assets."
