Gregory Alan McBride had his bail revoked and was taken away by Corrective Services officers in Sydney's Downing Centre District Court this week, following the guilty verdict.

McBride was arrested in an undercover sting by Oxley police in Tamworth, code-named Strike Force Mewburn in 2015.

The secret police operation was set-up to bring down a drug supply ring dealing methylamphetamine and cannabis in the Tamworth area, with connections to the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Club (OMCG).

It was the police case against McBride that he supplied more than 300g of the drug methylamphetamine, in the Tamworth and Westdale area, between November 2014, and March 2015.

Police had maintained McBride was one of the principle, or upper-level suppliers in the drug ring, sourcing the drug and on-supplying it to lower-level dealers in the Tamworth area.

Following a trial, which spanned close to four weeks in Sydney, the jury found McBride, now 36, guilty of commercial drug supply. 

Judge Penelope Hock immediately revoked McBride's bail, which was granted in 2015, ordering him into custody to start serving a sentence. A second drug supply charge was also adjourned to a sentencing hearing in June in Sydney.

McBride spent more than two weeks in custody following his arrest by Tamworth detectives, before his family offered their home in surety to secure his release. He's been on bail since March 2015, but now faces up to 20 years behind bars.

Several co-accused were jailed for drug supply offences, and some remain behind bars serving lengthy sentences.

The operation saw Oxley detectives smash the Rebels Tamworth chapter, and during a series of raids and arrests, eight members or associates were charged.

The Rebels' Tamworth clubhouse was also dismantled by Strike Force Raptor police, in March 2015.
