Armidale artist James White brings a stunning use of watercolour to still, everyday objects in his latest exhibition Chiaroscuro, from Darkness into Light.
"The appeal with watercolours is that they enable me to paint images with strong clean colours which are full of light," White said.
"My subjects are generally drawn from remembered images, from visual incidents observed in other countries or sourced in my local environment.

Fellow watercolourist Allison Goodwin brings more muted, subtle tones to her work in the exhibition Reminiscence.
Weswal Gallery opened in 1982 by ceramicist Fran West and Marcia Schofield, Weswal Gallery maintains a reputation as a fine art gallery specialising in showcasing works from emerging to established local, regional and national contemporary Australian artists.
It is located at 192 Brisbane Street, Tamworth.
The exhibitions run from March 28 to April 28.
