Bo Matthews lodged a bid for release in an out-of-sessions bail hearing in Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday, on charges of robbery with an offensive weapon, larceny and destroying property.
But the court denied the bail application, and ordered he remain in custody after his arrest in the boot of a car on Tuesday afternoon.
Matthews was being hunted by police for his alleged involvement in the hold-up, when they found him hiding in the Holden Commodore boot at a Henry Street property in Werris Creek.
