A MAN is behind bars, charged with drug offences after police uncovered $47,000 worth of the drug ice in Tamworth.

Aden Mohamed made no bid for release in Tamworth Local Court on Tuesday afternoon, a day after his arrest in a police raid in Coledale.
Oxley police raided the Anthony Road home shortly before 1pm on Monday, and discovered what they allege is almost 100g of the drug ice, cannabis and cash.
Mohamed and a 20-year-old man were arrested at the scene. After questioning, Mohamed, who police say doesn't live in Tamworth, was charged with two counts of possessing drugs, once count of drug supply and dealing in the proceeds of crime.
He was formally refused bail by magistrate Julie Soars, who ordered he remain in custody until next month.
Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy told the Leader the drugs have an estimated street value of $47,000.
This is a significant amount of drugs and police will allege it was for distribution into the Tamworth community.

"This is a significant amount of drugs and police will allege it was for distribution into the Tamworth community," he said.
"Acting on information from the public, police executed this search warrant and as result of those investigations and that help from community members, we have stopped this drug from making it to the street."
Police said the drug were found in the house, along with other drug paraphernalia they allege was used in the supply of the drug.
"This seizure is an example of the community working with police, and community members can be assured when they contact police with information, we will act upon it, just like we have here," Detective Darcy said.
Police said investigations into the seizure are continuing.
The 20-year-old man was released without charge.

A man will face court today after being charged with drug supply and possession in Tamworth.
At roughly 12.50pm on Monday, officers from Oxley Police District executed a search warrant at a house on Anthony Road, Tamworth.
During the search, police will allege they located and seized methylamphetamine - which has an estimated potential street value of $47,000 - cannabis and cash.

Two men - aged 28 and 20 - were arrested at the house and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
Following inquiries, the 28-year-old-man was charged with possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, possess cannabis and deal with proceeds of crime.
He was refused bail to appear in Tamworth Local Court today.
The 20-year-old man was released pending further investigations.
