The booked-out evening is being hosted by ANZ and will feature Jason Cunningham, the resident money expert on TV program The Living Room.
Cunningham told the Leader his advice could especially hit home for people facing one of the most fickle factors of all: the weather.
"Unfortunately when you're a cocky or living in a town that's being smashed by the drought, there's nothing we can do about that, but we can consider: how do we adapt and change our game plan?" he said.

"There's no doubt I can empathise with how tough it is [because] my wife's family are farmers in country Victoria ... but I think 'If it's to be, it's up to me' - what are the controllables?"
Cunningham said one of his earliest memories of money was coming home from school to find his parents crying over "losing everything".
"We as a family had to pack up and live at my Nan's - it was supposed to be for 12 months and it ended up being six years," he said.
The repercussions of that and his "challenging financial upbringing" taught him something important: "I don't want to live life like that."
Cunningham said he advocated having financial goals - achievable and tied to lifestyle perks such as being able to retire early, travel or buy a house, for example.
One of his tips to reach those goals was to save a little extra - "Take some money off yourself - if you don't have it, you can't spend it"; and make a little extra - "There are so many options available to you online - Airtasker ... renting a room on Airbnb, renting out a car park".
"If you could save $100 and make an extra $100 week ... $200 a week is $10,000 year."
