Organiser Teresa Eather the event was a sell-out drawing people from across the region, and from the coast for a locally produced feast.
While it was a wet day right across the region, Ms Eather said it actually lifted the mood in Nundle, a community which has been hit particularly hard by drought.

She said the skies eventually cleared over the runway for the traditional fashion show component of the picnic.
Ms Eather said events like the annual picnic keep Nundle front of mind throught the year.
"The events bring people back and it is hard work but that's why we pull together to make them happen," she said.
"Some people said to me today they just love coming back for the peace and tranquillity and the friendly people here."
The organising committee used the day to raise funds for the Nundle Amateur Swimming Club and while it hasn't tallied all of the funds it pooled today, Ms Eather was confident it would be a tidy sum.
The money will help the club pay for lane hire fees and children's swim coaches.
