When students walked out of the classroom and hit the streets protesting climate change, they left the rest of us to consider what we have - or haven't done - to make a difference.
Some said let them go, others not so sure about "the day off school".
I for one think our young people should be encouraged to become more politically engaged.
I doubt the curriculum is so jam packed that one day will make a huge difference, and if it actually results in our politicians taking note all the better.
This will result in a much more proactive nation into the future.
Isn't that what we want for our children, to take matters into their own hands?
Or would you rather raise a lazy, disengaged generation of disinterested youth? Not me!
And with just one week until the state election - and a federal election looming - what better time.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
