THE Greater Northern Tigers under-18 side has an unmistakable Dungowan flavour about it, with eight Cowboys in the squad for Saturday's clash against the Northern Rivers Titans at Bellevue Oval in Armidale.
Jhett Butler, Harrison Freeman, Clay Frendin, Cooper Harris, Kyle Johnson, Trent Taylor, Jack Todd and Sam Wentworth have starred throughout the Tigers' Laurie Daley Cup campaign, turning heads along the way.
One person's attention the group has caught has been new Cowboys first-grade coach Matt Wilson.
"Those boys have looked really good so far," Wilson told The Leader.
"They had a great season last year and it's really good to see them progressing for the Tigers."
The Tigers have had a tough run so far, recording one victory in four matches.
That win came against the Newcastle Knights.
However, Butler and Wentworth have both crossed for tries in the tournament.
"I'm sure they will take a lot from this experience," Wilson said.
"Hopefully they can finish their time with the Tigers on a high and take some good momentum into the regular season."
