POLICE are appealing for public help after two cars were stolen in Tamworth on Wednesday night and into the early hours of Thursday.

Officers were still searching for a silver Ford Ranger on Thursday afternoon after it was stolen from a Westdale property.
Police have been told the utility was taken between 5pm and 8pm on Wednesday from the Flinders Street property, but is not connected to any break-in.
Police said the Ranger was bearing number plates with DSC-35A and anyone with information on the stolen car is urged to contact officers.

Meanwhile, a white Holden Colorado has been recovered by police after it was stolen and then dumped on the outskirts of Tamworth.
The car was taken between 11.30pm on Wednesday and 6am on Thursday from a Kinarra Street house.
It was found mid-morning on Thursday dumped on the Oxley Highway, near the Goddard Lane intersection.
Officers are investigating if the vehicle was left unlocked, and if the keys had been stolen in a separate incident.
