Robert Gordon, 21, is being held in custody on charges of robbery armed with an offensive weapon and damaging property and was not required to enter pleas in Tamworth Local Court this week.
Police claim CCTV images depict two offenders storming The Pub off Dampier Street, armed with knives about 8.20pm on October 1.
The pair threatened employees before fleeing with a sum of cash.
Gordon has been behind bars since his arrest in Inverell in January.

He made no application for bail during the brief court proceedings and it was formally refused by magistrate Julie Soars.
She ordered detectives to compile and serve a brief of evidence on Gordon's defence before the case returns to court in mid-May.
Police are still hunting the second man who they allege was Gordon's accomplice in the robbery.
Detectives said the second offender was wearing a distinctive purple bandanna and is described as having fair skin, a thin build, about 170-175cm tall and aged 20-25 years old.
He was last seen wearing black pants, a white-t-shirt, a black cap and a distinctive purple bandana over his face.
Police released CCTV images as part of their investigation and said the offenders were last seen running on Aberdeen Street.
