A patient innings from stand-in captain Shayne Riordan has seen Kookaburras take the upper hand in their first-grade semi-final clash with Court House.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Riordan opened with himself and fellow veteran Paddy Paul to help lay the foundations for his side.
The two soaked up early overs before Paul fell for 15 off 70 balls.
The wicket brought Bowe Coward to the crease who helped Riordan take the team's total past the 100 mark.

From there Kookaburras looked to score quick-runs late in the day, which saw Riordan eventually fall to a stunning caught and bowled by Darrin Cameron for a marathon 65 off 189 deliveries.
Ben Irwin was the main destroyer for Court House, toiling away to finish the innings with figures of 4-43 from 18.3 overs.
With a formidable total of 181 on the board, Kookaburras made the most of four overs with the ball before stumps on day one, dismissing Oscar King for just two runs.
Jay Urquhart (1 not out) and Brodie Cleal (1 not out) will resume on day two with Court House at 1-4.
