Surrounded by a throng of children and their parents, the Test vice-captain signed autographs and then smiled his way through a question-and-answer session.
He was confronted with a series of curly questions, such as a desire to know how many bananas he eats a day (one or two, but not as many as fellow Aussie fast bowler Peter Siddle, who apparently eats 10 a day).
The Bendemeer-raised star nominated Indian captain Virat Kohli, South African veteran AB de Villiers and former Australian captain Steve Smith as the toughest batsmen to get out.
Australia winning the 2015 World Cup final at the MCG is his favourite cricket moment, and 148 kilometres an hour is the fastest he has bowled a ball.

Cricket NSW organised the Junior Blasters clinic, at which a child reminded Hazlewood that he has a match to play on Saturday afternoon.
Hazlewood will resumed on 31 for Old Boys on day two of their clash against City United at No.1 Oval.
He returned home to play the one-off match for his childhood club while recovering from a back injury that ruled him out of Australia's current white-ball tour of India.
Old Boys captain Ben Middlebrook said the tall paceman would return to Sydney on Sunday for more rehab, and was expected to resume bowling "mid to late March".
Hazlewood hopes to be fit for the World Cup in England and Wales from May 30 to July 14, which is followed by the Ashes in England.
Addressing the crowd at Riverside 1, Vinnie Cameron, of Cricket NSW, "joked" that Hazlewood was possibly the best person in the world.
Certainly, Hazlewood has been a big hit with the public during his homecoming - appearing at a number of public events and perhaps enhancing his already glowing reputation.
Cameron said: "Josh's contribution to community cricket has been incredible. It was great to have him down here [Riverside 1] and being involved."
As with day one of the City match last weekend, a sizable crowd is expected to descend on No.1 Oval on Saturday afternoon.
In 44 Tests, the Bendemeer Bullet, as Hazlewood is known, has taken 164 wickets at an average of 27.14.
