It was more noise than rainfall that rolled in over Tamworth as a thunderstorm hit about 7pm.
Gaye Johnson captured these photos in East Tamworth as the clouds broke, but it only took minutes for things to change.
The Bureau of Meteorology measured only 3.2mm in the gauge at Tamworth Airport but all eyes will be on the catchment after Nundle recorded 30mm.
The head of the Peel saw 10mm, along with Barry Station, while Crawney Mountain recorded 20mm.

There's been anecdotal reports of more on the outskirts of town and the puddles show if you were under them you might have collected a bit more of that wet stuff.
Unfortunately, the dry and hot conditions are set to continue for the city for the weekend and into the week.
Weatherzone forecasters predict Tamworth to hover around the 35-degree mark for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and into Monday before temperatures drop a couple of degrees into next week.
There is a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, but we're being urging not to hold our breath for more wet stuff.
