My heart aches and a drowsy numbness pains my senses, as though too many beers I had drunk, when I ponder the coming state and federal elections.

It is just the same old story, we are being bombarded with fake promises with tons of pork barrelling, as our inglorious politicians chase our votes, but our politicians are deceitful and dishonest and once our trust is broken it is very hard to win back.
My heart aches as I sit and watch the faces in the street, and I see in their faces a people of a disillusioned nation, a nation that has lost its way, a divided nation.
I see in their faces a loss of self-respect, a once proud and confident people, now realise they are not the masters of our own fate and they know that their voices will not be heard.
I see that they really do lie to us when they say that cotton corporations, do not suck the river system dry, and drain Keepit Dam until it is empty, then say it is not my fault.
That massive immigration that swamps our cities, so they are unlivable is a good thing, then say the cities are full, we now have to move the immigrants to the bush, even our own mayor, without asking us deems that Tamworth should go to a population of 100000. Are they awake or are they asleep?
Surely they must realise that many people, who live in Tamworth region do so to escape the rat race of the big city.
As a starter for another say 10,000 children we will need another at least 10 new schools, there is a fat chance of that happening.
There are oceans of evidence that man induced global warming that is destroying the environment, and the planet, how can they possibly talk of saving the environment or reducing the amount of green gas if we do not address the issue of population?
It is presently meaningless tokenism, there is just too many people. Why are we being swamped by Indians and Chinese, my bet it is because of the Free Trade Agreements with these countries. Opening of our labour markets has been included in the deals, so business can obtain cheap labour and throw a few generations of our children on the scrap heap.
We know that by mid-century the world’s population will be around 10 billion people, each having its own carbon footprint, and as we race towards the precipice, the point of no return, the politicians are still in denial even when most people in Australia now believe our migrant intake is too large, they have sold us out like sponge cakes, and we have knocked off for smoko and allowed this all to happen.
You see it is the capitalist poison in their brains, this time it is not revenge it is greed! They openly advocate endless economic development, more and more people more and more houses, more and more motor cars, and more and more money.
Thanks to little Johnny many have taken the bait and now are running like rats on a tread mill and have become unhappy little capitalists.
On Monday mornings, with my group of champion golfers, as we hack our way up the fourth and I hear the children of South Tamworth Public School playing and then sing the national anthem, my heart ache has gone, and a sense of pride swells my chest. Then I wonder are we leaving our glorious children a better place, with the present lot of boofheads? I think not!
We need a strong independent candidate for the federal seat, and need to give Barnaby the good kick up the pants that he well deserves.
Beware, beware, you scoundrels. (Don Quixote de la Mancha)
