The 13 and 15 year olds were arrested by police from the Tamworth Target Action Group (TAG) on Thursday at two South Tamworth homes and charged with aggravated break-and-enter and breach of bail offences.
Police will allege the pair broke into an East Tamworth unit at about 4.30pm on February 19 and stole several goods.
Oxley Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy told The Leader vigilant locals helped the investigation, culminating in the arrests.
"It was information from the community that has led to the swift arrests of these young persons by police as part of Operation Southbreak," he said.

"This was a vigilant neighbourhood who reported suspicious activity in the street."
Detective Darcy said police have been investigating a handful of other break and enters in the East Tamworth area this week and are canvassing residents to see if there are any links.
"We are urging locals to report suspicious activity, if you see something that is not right, then ring us and we will patrol or we will investigate," he said.
"If we don't know about it, or it is not reported to police directly then we can't act.
"These people behind this offending will continue to be targeted by Operation Southbreak and we would urge community members to be vigilant; keep an eye out on their properties, and their neighbours, and secure all their goods, their homes and their cars."
The pair were refused bail to front court later this month
