POLICE are searching for a group of young kids seen acting suspiciously outside an East Tamworth home before it was broken into.

Between 6pm on Sunday and 5pm on Monday, the Chelmsford Street home was targeted by thieves who forced a door in.
Once inside, they stole an amount of jewellery, police said.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses after they were told a number of young males, described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance were seen close to the home on Sunday night, acting suspiciously.
On Monday night, a Lydia Street occupant had a frightening discovery after he saw two teenage boys in his property.

The pair broke into the unit about 8.15pm and ran when startled by the male resident.
The man gave chase and the pair fled, along with two others who were nearby.
Police are appealing for anyone that might have seen four boys, believed to be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, and described about 12 to 14 years old.
Police said one of the males was about 15 years old and was last seen wearing a white shirt and shorts.
Offenders also tried to break into a Belmore Street property through a side window between 4.30 and 8pm on Monday but fled when disturbed by the occupants.
